First, please forgive the grocery store apple garnish in my Apple Orchard Cocktail. I swear it is local cider in the glass. We ate all the good apples...what can I say. Make me feel better and just envision glossy red and green Mac's in the above photo, Ok? Thanks!
Onward. This drink is YUM-ee. It is not too sweet, which is an essential element to making an excellent cocktail in my opinion. Since it uses fresh local fresh pressed cider, It most definitely falls into the "health drink" category (again, just my opinion).
Even if you are done with the whole apple picking orchard thing, I encourage you to pin this recipe, and hang on to fall as long as you can. It will be peppermint hot cocoa season before you know it. I for one, am not quite ready for that!
Need to use up the rest of those apples you picked? Try this Caramel Apple Bread. Perfect for a quick kiddie breakfast or to store in the freezer.
- 2 shots apple cider
- 1 shot vodka
- ½ tsp. cinnamon schnapps (I used Hot Damn Burst.)
- 1 tsp.cinnamon
- 1 tsp sugar
- Combine cinnamon and sugar on a small plate until mixed well. Rub the rim of a martini glass with a wedge of lemon. Dip edge of glass into cinnamon/sugar mixture to create a sugared rim. Set glass aside.
- In a martini shaker filled with ice, combine cider, vodka, and schnapps and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
- Pour drink into sugared glass and garnish with apple slice if desired.
